Here we have a beautiful early Rolex Oyster Tudor Prince with the much proffered and rare black face. It is a 1970s model well looked after and loved in pristine condition. The movement is a very high quality chronometer grade automatic movement with 25 jewels in a beautiful stainless steel water proof Rolex Oyster case. The gilded movement is slim, has fine adjustment on the balance and has been fully serviced. I have not opened it as the back was fitted back on by Rolex and I did not want to break any of the seals. It keeps excellent time and the seconds hand sweeps across the face the sign of a very finely engineered movement indeed. When I acquired this watch the winding mechanism and crown had worn (I found this out when the stem came off in my hand one day). So I passed in onto Rolex here in Gibraltar when I decided it needed a complete overhaul and service. Rolex replaced the crown, stem, and connecting cog inside the movement, cleaned it up and of course replaced the crystal with a new Rolex Cyclops type. The cost for this work was nearly £250.00 (will pass on the receipt with the winning bidder) and it still has 8 months of the one year guarantee to run, the genuine Rolex guarantee is shown in the photo, it is in Spanish as Gibraltar Rolex is linked to Spanish Rolex but can be shown anywhere at a Rolex dealership in the world guranteed!!. The Rolex Tudor Oyster case numbers are as follows: Ref No. Model type 90520, Serial No. 949052. The movement is very high quality as one would expect from Rolex. When the screw down crown is unscrewed there are two clicks one to adjust the time and the other the date. The first click allows easy adjustment of the date to save endlessly winding it around the face. This is known on Rolex watches as date adjust and is an expensive feature on all high end quality watches. The second click allows the time to be adjusted and features the hack setting. This in layman’s terms means that the movement and thus the seconds hand stops to allow accurate adjustment and synchronization. This again is a feature to be found on only the highest quality chronometer movements. The perfect black face and steel raised baton markers with its Tudor Crown logo is superb and totally flawless. The hands are perfect too as is the crystal and date window. The Oyster Rolex case is in fantastic condition with no damage what so ever. The Rolex Oyster stainless steel case is unique today as the Tudor Range today although still owned by Rolex does not used Rolex parts. Tudor does not use Rolex Oyster cases or Rolex screw down crowns anymore. So this watch is one of the older type models that were a true Rolex and today’s Tudors are not anymore alas. This is because Rolex are now trying to be totally exclusive in their own right. This is a true Rolex Tudor and will appreciate more in value if kept in this pristine collectable condition. Watch dimensions a standard man's size are, width minus the crown is 34mm, with the crown (screwed tight) is 37mm depth 7mm minus the crystal. This beautiful classy watch comes with a genuine alligator black leather high quality strap made (these strap alone cost between £70.00 & £100.00) and a Rolex stainless steel crown buckle to finish it off . I also have a retro folded link stainless steel Oyster bracelet with a Tudor Crown buckle/clasp. This is an after market strap as genuine folded stainless steel straps if you can get them are very expensive and usually if genuine heavily worn and loose. This is a nice replacement Oyster band if you prefer a stainless steel strap to a leather one. I have always preffered leather but it will be sent with this watch too as a bonus item, these fetch good money on their own! It is a beautiful strap and fits the watch perfectly. This is a real stunner that stands out as a classy high quality dress watch that you will love and you won’t be disappointed with it in any way if you bid for this watch and win it. You won’t find one in better condition aesthetically and mechanically. Comes with Tudor leather watch box with suede lining and outer box too. Remember you don't often buy top quality watches on ebay with a full service and gurantee do not judge this watch by others for sale at less money here on ebay. Work out what you will end up paying for a nice looking watch without a decent service, that's the true cost. You can't get a better service than from an authorised Rolex dealer with a Rolex gurantee. With a service this watch is like a mint retro example good for many years until the next service to be worn every day that's the quality and gurantee you are paying for!!! If you think about that, then this is actually cheaper than any other example here on ebay. Don't trust someone elses word for a service ask for proof which I can provide from Rolex and not many can say that on this auction site. Watch will be sent air mail insured and recorded so will need to be signed for.
